…UND IM RADIO SPIELEN SIE EIN LIEBESLIED

XIMENA FERRER PIZZARO & LUKAS LIESE

The duo exhibition “…UND IM RADIO SPIELEN SIE EIN LIEBESLIED” with Ximena Ferrer Pizzaro and Lukas Liese confronts the visitor with a challenging multidimensionality of narratives in each individual work and in their combination with each other.
Ferrer Pizzaro and Liese not only seduce us with a powerful visual and formal language, they also entice us with their irresistible choice of colors (Ferrer Pizzaro) and surprise us with an archaic material (Liese). Ferrer Pizzaro’s and Liese’s red threads stretch in a direct line from the oldest art world history to our present momentum.

That in itself would be exciting enough, but Ferrer Pizzaro’s and Liese’s works enter into a vibrant communication with each other in the selection of their trains of thought, in which it feels as if the viewer is in the middle of the action and at the same time an observer from the outside. The current fog of real struggles with ongoing crises and their own search for identity in chaos immediately envelops the visitor, but perhaps in a conciliatory, tidy form, as Ferrer Pizzaro and Liese manage to focus on the essentials.
The work of the self-aware and reflective subject in the here and now, aware of the repetition of history and its own transience.

The title of the exhibition “…UND IM RADIO SPIELEN SIE EIN LIEBESLIED” reflects a very simple but essential main side-effect of our social fabric.
Love. Hope and fading out at the same time.
Can and should it be so theatrically simple these days? When it comes to questions about love, perhaps yes, because everywhere else, intellectual complexity and ambivalence should not be shied away from.
